Dry razors and the midwife
The topic of the “dry razor” just before child birth has been a discussion of late. After taking to a midwife the other day I felt I should mention hair removal to all of you pregnant ladies out there. This is probably the last thing on your mind before giving birth, but if you have a planned C section it maybe worth considering.
When scar tissue heals it can itch and when shaved hair grows back it almost certainly will itch, so ask yourself the question, “Should I think about hair removal?” We are not suggesting that every expectant mother have the latest brazilian, although many of our clients have this done during their pregnancies, we are merely feeding back the child birth experiences of our clients.
This week one of our 3 “expectant” ladies, due end of February, said she was so glad to have now found sugaring. She spoke about her previous waxing experiences a few years ago now. It was suggested to her by a friend to “get a wax” and her reply was, “Wax before a birth! just punch me twice why don’t you”.
We know that the last thing any medical staff are looking at is your latest hollywood wax but if some of the area is clear, even just the C section, then as said by the midwife, it makes their job easier, and our expectant mum is happy with one more weight off her mind!
I have had a sugaring before 2 of my 3 c-sections,the last one being in December and I would highly recommend it to everyone. It is much nicer than the NHS “beauty” treatment!! The scar gets really itchy as it heals and it is much nicer to know you won’t have ingrown hair from a shaving in there.
Thank you Siobhan, you’ve been with us since the very beginning too :)
