We started sugaring because after alot of research and asking about, noone seemed to welcome men and noone seemed to do a proper Brazilian. Also, to date, have found noone else in Southampton who is certified in butt, sac and crack!   After working in London’s Soho and doing extra training we decided to start a sugaring service in Southampton.  We have worked in gyms, male grooming salons, hair salons but now have found the most perfect place for hair removal.  Many men said they would never wax because they bled! they stayed red for days!  it really, really hurt …..but…….most said they would not feel comfortable going to a hair salon for a back wax!” Our studio is perfect.

We are all individuals and not everyone takes the same amount of time !   We do not all have the same amount of hair, we are not all the same size, we have not all had a go at our shoulders with the clippers or got a bic out and shaved,  we have not all bought an epilator and ripped our legs to shreds and we have not all ended up like we need to visit the burns unit after using a depilatory cream!  For us to do the best job we can, we like to take into consideration all things and also ask about current or previous medication.

We like to meet you first before we stipulate a timescale.   Have you ever been rushed out of a salon because there was not enough time as someone else was waiting?   Sugarflick will not burn you, injure you or leave hair behind because we have not got time to finish.  We will not keep you waiting or treat you like a number.  We believe you are an individual.

What makes our service unique is that we only offer hair removal.  We do not have a boss/manager pressurising us to get people in and out, to meet targets etc.  We are not part of any large corporation which means we can give clients that personal touch.  Our clients stick with us, pardon the pun!  We sugar all day everyday.

Now we have settled at 81 Bedford Place, we have found male clients much prefer the “non girly” salon environment.  We share a building with a cafe, a pilates studio and a gym.  Whether you come to 81 Bedford Place to get fit, get fed or get de-furred, who would know, we all share the same front door.

Have you ever been to a place that really was not very clean? or ever called somewhere and been told “Sorry, we don’t treat men?” or finally, have you ever felt embarrassed about certain treatments?  These are just a few comments made to us by our clients.

Sugarflick are trained and experienced in intimate hair removal, from butt, sac and crack to Hollywoods.  As far as we know, we are the “only” certified service in Butt, Sac and Crack.  We are therefore fully insured for Boyzilians and Hollywoods.  However, we do not appreciate timewasters, so please only call about a Boyzilian if you are serious. Although we are a confidential service we do keep all emails for our own records but will forward any suggestive/explicit materiel to the police.  We use an iphone so all texts are stored and we do not answer witheld numbers. We are not a sexual service.

We specialise in Male Hair Removal.  Ladies, don’t be put off, we do many Hollywoods and Brazilians, in fact these are the most popular treatments for women in our service and we have received alot of feedback from many women, wishing they had found us years ago! Top of their list was the pain factor, followed by no aftercare advice given!   We give you very detailed before/aftercare advice, in writing, usually by email before your treatment.

Sugarflick are qualified, experienced and fully insured for all intimate hair removal.    Under Habia’s new National Occupational Standards, Axiom are the first providers in the UK to offer certificated training in the advanced technique of male intimate hair removal.  Sugarflick are Axiom certified.  Habia is the standard setting body for the hair, beauty, nails and spa industries.

Hygiene and standards

Many of our clients comment on our treatment room’s cleanliness and tranquility. We pride ourselves on our standards of hygiene & practice when when it comes to hair removal.  Our studio is well lit and ventilated, not a chlostrophibic basement but light and airy.

We use nitrile gloves not latex.  All our insurance and qualificatons are displayed.  We conduct a pre-treatment questionnaire, we offer Free Test Patches and consultations.  We give away a free kg bag of Dead Sea Salt from Israel, with some treatments.

How Sugarflick started

Many places do waxing and some people do sugaring in their homes, but no salon in Southampton offered sugaring.  Also, very few places seemed to welcome men, so that is why Sugarflick was born.  Sugarflick has grown so much over the past and our large client base reflects that.

Getting work experience in Soho, London, a few years ago and getting much training and then practice in the following months on long suffering friends and family, a place was finally secured and sugaring began.

Sugarflick trained with Nagwa in Leeds and the name “Sugarflick” was born, after work experience in Soho.  A large thankyou to Simon Murphy of Soho’s Urban Wellbeing to Sean & Tracey Miller of X-it, Soho for their encouragement and work experience.
